Adult junior scotch doubles format

Format for 2007

This years format is similar to previous years, there is still a six game qualifying round followed by knock out rounds and a round robin final. The only differences are due to the new venue we now have 6 lanes to play on instead of four, so there will be 9 teams in the round robin and 36 will come through the cut to the knock out rounds. No direct qualification from the qualifying round to the final this year everyone will have to do the knock out stages, you can still of course get yourself an easier ride by finishing highly in the qualifying round. The last tournaments results are on this website looking at them will remind you or give you an idea if it is your first time. Finals day Sunday 2nd December, the top 36 teams on pinfall would qualify positions 37 and below would fail to qualify and miss the cut. The team with the highest handicap pinfall over two games in the knock out round will eliminate their opponents. Positions and timings in the knock out rounds will be determined by their position from the qualifying round. In the event of a tie the team with the lower handicap will qualify higher, if still tied the team with the higher low game will progress.

With the present number of entries it looks as in the table below. As you can see the better you do in the qualifying round, the easier it is to come through the knock out rounds to the round robin final.
